VP  Marketing and Product (June2018)

Reports to CEO Rootility


• To identify potential markets for current product lines and to drive and implement the company’s strategy to develop new products and services
• To identify potential markets and product lines for the company’s activities and guide the R&D in the development of suitable products for these markets
• To establish a marketing infrastructure to enable further penetration of the company’s products and activities, including alliances with key partners in relevant markets/industries
• To plan and execute all marketing activities in accordance with an annual marketing plan


• Establish alliances with key companies in relevant sectors (seeds, fresh produce, nurseries, technology companies, etc.) in accordance with the company’s strategic plan.
• Supervise Marketing and Sales team, including product management, marketing and sales activities.
• Identify potential markets, lead market intelligence and analysis and prioritize product development.
• Work with all internal and external stakeholders (eg. R&D, Production, HTS, Distributors) to ensure the development of a product portfolio that is in line with market-driven product profiles
• Design and implement annual marketing and sales plan and budget.
• Identify and enter into agreements with partners for distribution and/or product development of existing and new product lines in relevant markets
• Develop and execute plans for new product launches, including value pricing of all new products.
• Lead all marketing communications activities, create marketing materials and lead external communications to promote the company and its products.
• Actively participate as member of senior management in developing and implementing the company’s strategy
• Responsible for managing and maintain the registration of the  company’s IP as deemed necessary


A senior employee at management level, with proven experience and abilities in:

• The relevant industry
• Establishing and managing a marketing and sales organization (can be small, but global)


• Good managerial skills (interpersonal and professional)
• Strategic mindset
• Ability to negotiate and conclude strategic deals
• Team player as part of senior management
• Ability to lead by personal example
• Availability and suitable for frequent traveling
• Proficiency in languages – English essential, Spanish an advantage
• Experience and/or ability to manage ambiguities associated with start ups
• Good communication skills – internally and externally

• Bsc/Msc In agriculture or life science
